A Note from River:
We are "a band called RIVER". The reasons why it is "a band called RIVER" is that is not just about the music for us. We are a band of brothers and sisters that get together and go. We go to NASCAR events, biker events, community festivals as well as other places and do what we do.
What do we do? We just enjoy being with people. Whether it is at the tracks kickin' it up with some classic rock or at the camp sites just chillin with the others, we just like being with people. We bring all of our toys and give all we have for those around us. We take our own stage, power, equipment, food, sleepers, and clean up crews. We might be out hanging with the Vets and the Military. We can't say thank you enough for the men and women who have served and continue to serve us around the world.
We ask nothing of our hosts except that we get to be around people. We know that life is tough and some of you just need someone to talk to. Others of you have things to celebrate, like life. Many come to us and ask that we pray. Yep, you understood right. PRAY! We are not ashamed of being believers in Jesus and believe that he loves us all. But we also know that it is everyone's decision to make and that's what makes it great.
We all are volunteers. No one is getting paid and no one is complaining. This whole thing is pure. From the music to the compassion for all of our friends. We pay our own way with help from friends. Because we have so many friends, you may see a different bunch on the stage or at the campsites. But always know this; The purpose is the same. Make friends and help others who are at tough spots in life. So come on and join us however you wish. Do something to let friends know that life is worth living and that there is always hope. We just keep on keepin' on......Just like a mighty RIVER.
